photo essay

I came across a photo essay online that I found very insightful. It is a Time Magazine/CNN website that provides a slide show of the various foods that different cultures eat. At the bottom of each slide, it gives the country and that average amount of money they spend on food each week. I found it interesting to see some family eating such small amounts of food while other families ate extremely large amounts. For example, in Chad they spend on 1.23 on food per week while in the United States, families spend over 300 dollars a week for a family of four. The photos also depict how different families are among the different countries. In the United States photo, there were two adults and two children. In the photo from Cairo, the photo depicts seven adults and five children. I found the photo essay to be very powerful in portraying different parts of the world.
